What class of cars do you race?
Any off road cars are welcome, 4 cars make a class! Popular Classes are 1/8th Scale Buggy and 1/8 Scale Truck.
How many different classes are there at Delta RC?
1/10th Electric Truck & Buggy, 1/10th Gas Truck, Production Monster Truck, 1/8th Buggy, 1/8th Truck.
What if there are not 4 cars for my class?
This will be handled on each raceday, and you may be put in a class with different cars. Before any race day, you can alway post in the off-road forums and let others know you what class you are running. That will encourage other drivers to bring another car or show up and race the class.
Is there an age limit?
You can race as long as you can see the track and control you car. For younger races we suggest bringing them out for a practice day first.
How do you keep track of the cars in a race to see who is winning?
We have a sophisticated lap counting system that uses Track or personal transponders to count your laps each time you cross the line.
What is a transponder?
A transponder emits a specific signal for your car and the computer system receives that signal and counts your lap each time you cross the start/finish line.
Do I have to buy a transponder?
Delta RC Raceway Provides transponders on any race day. The transponder must be picked up no sooner the 1 heat before your race, and must be returned immediately after your race before you turn marshall so it can be available for the next person who needs it. If you purchase a personal transponder, it's yours to take home, and can be used at many racing venues.
What is a Turn Marshall?
A Turn Marshall is a racer who stands near the track and flips cars over that crash. After your heat/race, you must turn marshall for the next group of races on the track. Everyone that races has to turn marshall, or you must find someone to turn marshall for you when its your turn!
Is there a hobby store at the track & do you carry parts for my car?
Yes, we carry many brands of RC cars, parts, & upgrades. Call Ahead to get specific manufacture information.
What should I bring to the track?
You should bring an extension cord, Power Strip, Chair, & Shade in the summer. Pit tables are provided, but space is limited. We suggest you bring a folding table just in case pit tables run out.
Is there Food at the track?
There is a food service provided at delta usually on race days, but please check the calendar and plan accordingly. They have a menu of items to choose from, Cold Drinks, and snacks. Everything is reasonably priced.
How much does Racing cost?
Race Fee's vary based on event and number of cars you plan to race. Please check the calendar for a specific day and the fee's should be listed.
How much does Practice Cost?
Practice is 10 dollars all day on scheduled days. Practice is usually held on Sundays. Please check the calendar for specific dates.
Is there lodging near by?
Delta allows camping at the track for big events, please check the calendar for more information. There are hotels located near the track such as the Travel Lodge on W 10th Street and the MicroTel on Auto center Drive.
